Why Paul Institute is important for the community
In a world where every child deserves to shine, Dr. Chezhian Ramu, a visionary and dedicated social entrepreneur, embarked on a remarkable journey in 1996. With compassion as his guiding force, he founded Flying Children Service Lifeline, a beacon of hope for children with special needs.
As Dr. Chezhian Ramu delved deeper into the lives of these precious young ones, he discovered a glaring gap in the education system – a lack of specialized institutions and trained teachers to cater to their unique needs. Undeterred, he persevered, establishing a comprehensive network of support systems. For children under 6 years, he created four Early Intervention Centres (EICs) in Tiruvannamalai, Thandrampet, Chengam, and Thanipadi, where parents could access specialized care and guidance alongside their children. Additionally, he founded a network of special schools, including Lifeline Special School, Childline Special School, and Tamilian School, which have transformed the lives of countless children with intellectual disabilities.
The crowning jewel of his endeavors is the Paul Institute of Special Teacher Training, founded in 2012, which has been empowering teachers to unlock the full potential of special needs children. Dr. Chezhian Ramu’s selfless dedication has earned him widespread recognition, including numerous awards from the Tiruvannamalai District Collector almost every year for his outstanding performance in the welfare of special children – a testament to his tireless efforts, which have been consistently acknowledged almost every year. Our Founder – Dr. Chezhian Ramu:
Dr. Chezhian Ramu, a dedicated advocate for the rights and education of differently-abled children, founded the Paul Institute with a clear vision in mind. His passion for creating a brighter future for these children and his unwavering dedication to their cause has been the driving force behind our institute’s success.
In the photo, In November 2017 our President and Founder, Mr Chezhian Ramu received the National Award “Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Award for Service to Children 2017” from the Government of India, directly from our honorable President of India, Mr Ram NathKovind.
