“Teaching Is Not a Job; It’s A Mission to Touch Lives and Make a Difference.” – APJ Abdul kalam.

The Paul Institute of Special Teacher Training, established in 2012, was founded with a clear vision: to cultivate dedicated and highly professional special educators who would be equipped to serve children with special needs. This vision arose from the recognition of a significant gap in the provision of such educators in the Tiruvannamalai district and the desire to provide a pathway to education for rural girls and parents of special children in the region.

Vision:

“To empower every individual with unique learning needs by nurturing a world-class community of special educators, where innovation, inclusivity, and compassion converge to transform lives.”

Mission:

Our mission at the Institute of Special Teacher Training is to provide specialized education and training to teachers, carers, and professionals dedicated to the holistic development of individuals with diverse learning needs. Through our unwavering commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and research-driven practices, we aim to:

Equip Educators: Provide comprehensive training, resources, and support to educators so they can excel in their roles as advocates and facilitators of inclusive education.

Promote Inclusivity: Foster a culture of inclusivity by promoting awareness, understanding, and acceptance of diverse learning needs within the broader community.

Advance Research: Contribute to the field of special education through rigorous research, innovation, and the development of evidence-based teaching methods and strategies.

Advocacy: We advocate for the rights and well-being of individuals with special needs, striving to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and create a more inclusive society.

Professionalism: We uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in all our interactions and activities, setting a positive example for our students and the broader community.

Lifelong Learning: We believe in the importance of lifelong learning for educators, encouraging continuous growth and development to better meet the evolving needs of individuals with special needs.
